Commit to Memory: But I am full of power by the spirit of the Lord… (Micah 3:8)
When you become born again and baptised with the Holy Ghost, you become full of and with the same power that was resident and limitless in Christ. What kind of power? Power for exploits (Daniel 11:32), power for every task, power to overcome trials and temptations, power to attract greatness, power to destroy the works of the devil, power to bring forth breakthroughs, power for excellent results, power for Kingdom assignments, power to attract destiny helpers and power to get wealth. This actually was what happened to Jesus as He was full of the Holy Ghost but not with power, but immediately after his marathon fasting and prayer of forty days and forty nights- He was endued with power. See what Saint Luke said about Jesus in Luke 4:14:
“And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.”
Imagine, just because a couple lied about the total sale and submission of their very own property to the Apostles feet, they both died at the pronouncement of Peter even without a curse on the couple (Acts 5:1-11). The power of God was really shut up in the Apostles bones.
Can you make up your mind to get serious with God, and seek spiritual power, little wonder the Almighty God promised as many that can make up their mind to seek Him wholeheartedly will find him and I tell you when you find God- power is released. (Jere.29:13). This was the testimonies of the hall of fame in Hebrews 11:4-38. These Generals subdued kingdoms, performed strange miracles and signs alien to this world, stopped the mouth of lions, they turned the world upside down such that scriptures attested that “they were too good for this world” (Heb.11:38 NLT). What a testimony they had- a testimony sealed with spiritual power that could not be ridiculed, silenced and conquering every territory they went.
And so in our commit to memory, the prophet said I am full of power by the Spirit of the Lord. Not gossip, not anger, not bitterness, not jesting, not alcohol or other spirits, not unforgiveness, not mischief, not regrets but POWER. I pray the Lord will cause His power to fall on us as we engage our hearts to seek Him now and always.
Reflection: When was the last time you prayed in tongues an hour?
Prayer Lines: Father fill me with your Holy Ghost and power to overflowing.
