Too Hot to Handle

Commit to Memory: “And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.”  1 Kings 18:24 KJV.

In Zechariah 3:1-4, the Bible relays the High priest Joshua standing before the angel of the Lord, the devil was standing bye seeing a legal ground to strike Joshua and to accuse him before the Lord. Why?  He was dressed in filthiness. But the Lord made provision for his cleansing. How? He removed his filthy garment that brought shame to the office of Priesthood and then covered his nakedness, thus the Almighty God caused His grace to speak mercy and radiate light on Joshua. I pray that the Almighty God will speak mercy over every legal ground satan is using against you, cover your nakedness, cause you to return to Him and like Joshua, cause you to experience restoration in the name of Jesus.

Beloved, it’s interesting to see Elijah so confident of the consuming fire of God. This is because he had settled it in his prayer closet. Do you desire to be too hot to handle by the kingdom of men and darkness? Then generate energy in the prayer closet. Why? Prayer is a platform for intimacy, warfare, intercession and generation of spiritual fire and power. This is the sacrifice that brings spiritual fire, stability and power.

When you carry the fire of God, the multitude will assemble and listen to you no matter your location and every allocation needed in your location is released by the Lord. Little wonder when John was in the wilderness, multitude went to seek solution from him. He became an influence too relevant to be ignored. Look at Jesus- He went to the temple; multitude followed him, he went to the mountain; a crowd followed him, he walked on the road path still multitude followed and sought for him. Why? Your location is not a disadvantage; your peril is simply lack of fire. When you become too hot to handle- whatever you command will be established by the Lord.

That was what happened to Elijah in today’s commit to memory, he called forth fire and fire came down, at another occasion he called forth fire to consume two batches of soldiers that came to forcefully capture him from the mountain top and fire descended. (2 kings 1:9-12), at another time he locked up the heaven that there should be no rain by his words not God’s word and it was so. Look at what 1 kings 17:1 (NIV) says:

“Now Elijah the Tishbite, from Tishbe in Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the Lord, the God of Israel, lives, whom I serve, there will be neither dew nor rain in the next few years except at my word.””

Imagine the audacity of Elijah, he was really too hot for his generation, little wonder it became a norm that ‘’THE GOD OF ELIJAH IS THE GOD THAT ANSWERETH BY FIRE, because of this experience God branded his dealings with Elijah with the symbol of FIRE. For a user of this inspiration, I pray that the Lord will raise you as an Elijah to your generation in Jesus name

Reflection: Are you ready to pay the price for Spiritual fire?
