Commit to Memory: O thou that heareth prayer shall all flesh come. Psalm 65:2.
From our commit to memory today, the Psalmist here was giving a perspective of prayer that not everyone can hear prayer. David was speaking from experiential knowledge that among other gods, the difference was clear in Jehovah his Maker as the other deities are powerless and helpless but the LORD His God is the One that heareth prayers and because He hears, he also sustains the ability and prowess to answer.
Beloved, the life wire of a Christian is Prayer and any time you cease to pray, you become dry like a fig tree. This is because any time you engage your heart in prayers- God is committed to reveal in your life some amazing possibilities of His ways and acts that has not been shown to others, little wonder Jesus thought it important to teach the disciples to pray.
The more you pray, the more the Holy Spirit causes you to walk in God’s will and delivers to you the sufficiency of your needs, so whenever you begin to pray especially in the spirit- what happens is that the Holy Spirit begins to perform the task of transferring the will of the Father to the mind of the Believer. This is key because if you do not know the scopes and boundaries of prayers, you become frustrated and suffer delay in prayers.
In Psalm 63:1 while in the desert of Judah, David expressed his thirst, hunger and desire for God. For him there was no desert in his heart even though he was in the midst of a weary desert – he still sought the Lord. Its interesting that in this wilderness experience, David turned this solitary place to become an habitation for God, it was at this odd season as it where that he engaged his heart in prayer to bless the Lord. He made his worship suitable to his situation and sang spiritual songs to his maker, no wonder the Lord will go ahead to show him mercy like no other man in Bible history.
David relayed that there is a God who takes pleasure in hearing prayers, but then what if He does not hear- how then can He answer as there are some prayers that are offered but never heard nor answered (the prayers of sinners- Isaiah 59:1-2), there are prayers that are offered , heard but not answered (this can happen when your prayers is under satanic attack like that of Daniel in Daniel10:11-14 or perhaps when God has something much better for you that you cannot see at the moment and then there is the category of those offered, heard and answered as seen in the prayers of Christ (John 11:41-44). I am believing God for a user of this inspiration that any time you turn to God in prayers may heaven be at attention to attend to your case with suddenness of time in Jesus name. So wake up from spiritual slumber today and begin to engage your heart in the place of prayer.
Reflection: How often do you take everything to God in prayer?
Prayer Lines: Father transfer your will to my mind by your Spirit and give me result in prayer.
