How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (Genesis 39:9)
God, in His manifold wisdom has blessed man with the will of choice. These choices can be positive or negative, godly or satanic, right or wrong, it can lift you up or drown you. Like Joseph, each moment of our lives, we are placed in a position to make a choice. The results of our choices may bring immediate or long term results. However, no matter the choices you make remember your present and future will be greatly influenced. Thank God for Joseph, who withdrew from making the wrong choice at a very critical time in his life.
What was key in this? God. The Lord was with him. How did this happened? Joseph had a mind set of focus. He knew where he was going. Friends, has the Lord left you like Samson and king Saul and you are still gallivanting in ignorance like a fan that has been put off but still working for a while. if you can see the future bright, you will not sell your birth right for food like Esau, end up in the laps of Delilah for pleasure; this is key because for every wrong choice you make have the potential of cutting short your destiny. But for you, it shall not be so in Jesus name.
To have the ability to make choices is an enormous responsibility as well as a great power we as Believers possess. Each day we live the consequences of the decisions we make. They can move us to achieving great heights of success or failure in life no matter our circumstances. Joseph said in Genesis 39:9 ….”how can I do this great wickedness and sin against God”. He realised the choice of some minutes pleasure with Potiphar’s wife will cause his dreams of the palace- a glorious destiny to be truncated.
Friends, you cannot settle for a wrong choice and expect a glorious future, for the choices we make can bring us joy or sorrow, progress or backwardness, they can bring us sound health or ill health. So dearly beloved of God, how are you at making sound lifestyle choices? How are you at making choices in your relationships, how are you at making the choice of a life partner, in your business, career, family and ministry?
Prayer Lines: Father, guide my thoughts, align them with your will, help my decisions and make my choices upright in Jesus name.
