“For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands: Even as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, and are not afraid with any amazement”. 1 Peter 3:5-6 (KJV)
By God’s design, God created everything in pair. It was for a purpose in the intent of God’s heart which is for our interests. God purposed and created His creatures in “twos”. He created the sun to rule the day and the moon to guide the night; so the sun is to take the lead but the moon to give guidance. He created evening and morning, animals in pairs (male and female) and then man and woman to complement one another.
The reason God gave you your spouse is first to honour and respect him or her. (Genesis 2:22). When God created Adam, He caused him to sleep, took one of his rib, created Eve and brought her back to Adam. Do you know it was humility on the part of God and honour to Adam that God brought Eve to Adam. Eve was given to Adam as God’s first gift- this shows God put honour and respect on Adam as He realised man is the head of the woman as He is the head of the man. If God could honour and respect Adam by the gifting of Eve, every real man ought to show respect and honour to their wives as we are created in His image.
Friends, you can make your marriage and relationship worth admiring today if you wil make it a point of duty to always respect your spouse. Regardless of how you perceive flaws in your fiance or wife; she is God’s creation and its God’s will for you to show respect to her. It is therefore unacceptable before God if you as a woman don’t respect, honour and submit to your man but do the reverse to the Clergy and those in authority. Beloveth, I say God forbid as this is great injustice to your man and to God your maker.
Issues, arguments and misunderstanding may crop into your relationships that will almost make you to disrespect your man but as long as you cannot disrespect your Maker, try never to disrespect your man as this kills his self-esteem.
Examine yourself and make a progressive change to this effect today. Be wise.
