“Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers”. 1 Peter 3:7.(NIV).

Every man created by God is adorned with self-esteem. In the words of Leo Tolstoy, Respect was invented to cover the empty place where love should be.

To a virtuous woman, respect is a booster on your man’s self-esteem; just as it is to God, when you praise and extol His name: He’s enthroned of our praise, as He feels good and thus obligated to blessing you. In the same vain, u must learn to respect and adore your man in your relationships.

To you as a husband created in the image of God, God demands a high level of understanding and maturity which will birth respect towards your wife. When God created man and woman (who was inherent in Adam then), He gave them dominion over all His creatures except fellow men. (Genesis 1:26, 28). As a king in the eyes of God, you are not commanded to have dominion over your woman or fellow men. This is unacceptable before God, for it is a weak man that disrespect his wife.

Real men do not beat, look down, run down their wives despite all odds, they don’t treat their spouses like a piece of trash in the bin; instead they show respect because they realise they’re committed to the command of love God obligated to them.

Gentleman, are u a weak man who disrespect your wife or a mighty man who respect your wife?

To respect your woman, you must show and make her realize she’s your epitome of beauty, you must put it to her she counts in your priorities, you must admire her understanding, praise her judgment, question her decisions in love, solicit her criticisms and always eat her food with a radiant smile.

Steve Hall once said “The truest from of love is how you behave towards someone, not how you feel about them”. As a God fearing wife, you can’t really respect your husband if you don’t submit to his authority.

Dearly beloved of God, have a change of heart and make it a point of duty to always respect your spouse.
