Respect

However, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband. (Ephesians 5:33).

Respect is a biblical principle that is becoming increasingly invisible in our relationships today be it marital or not. Respect, honor and esteem are very simile related words used interchangeably in the Bible.

God’s command is for our obedience not for our questioning. So the man is to love but to the woman God commands her to respect her husband.

When a woman understands what respect means to her man, she remains on top of his list and wins her man. As men are moved by what they see, so they feed on respect no matter how small or stout they may look. Do you want to be a wise woman, then wisdom demands you feed your man with respect and soon it will be smeared on you by your man.
Respect is part of his design as a leader of the home front, protector and a provider. Thou woman, are you a dictator, or a specialist in running down your man. Desist today, be wise.

Respect far outweighs fame, learn to respect everyone ranging from your wife, husband, children, friends and everyone you come across. Little wonder Voltaire said ‘to the living we owe respect, but to the dead we owe only the truth. Its demeaning the way staffs are treated in the office front in secular cycles not to talk of domestic violence raging in marital cycles and abuses among couples consequent to the issue of respect.

Respect the decisions of your spouse in good faith, respect his/her decision and don’t lord over your decisions over your spouse and even your children but rather amicably communicate your decisions via intimate dialogue and the likes such that they will buy into it having won them over.

Prayer Lines: Father, release your grace to honour my spouse and everyone around me always.
