…”Do not lie, do not deceive one another”. Leviticus 19:11 (NIV).
Lies are worms that eat up the good of thriving relationships/marriages. Like cancer they corrupt the soul and soon spread everywhere in the being leaving destruction behind.
Friends, you are not what you think but what you hide. Are you open to ur spouse? Are there some things you still conceal? Do you tell the truth at all times? Have you introduced lies in your relationships? Do yo lie to cover your weaknesses? When was the last time you looked into the eyes of your husband/wife and told him/her the whole truth without missing words? Repent today and turn a new leaf.
Are you single or married, the Lord commands Do not lie, do not deceive one another, do not lie as couples one to another. In the words of Friedrich Nietzsche: “I am not upset that you lied to me, I’m upset that from now on I can’t believe you”. Lies destroys the foundation of relationships which destroys trust even as trust is the pedestal on which love stands.
Love, trust, care, respect and other marital spices come apart so easily when they have been bonded with lies. You rarely can love without trust. Never begin a relationship or marriage on the platter of lies, it will never stand the test of time as it will crumble. Your spouse is your better half, your divine replica, God sees you both as one; while then should you lie one to another. Some give the flimsy excuse of not wanting to loose their spouses to lie to them. Folks, its great injustice to lie to your spouse, this brings God’s wrath to the defaulting party as God destroys those who tell lies. (Psalm 5:6). No matter how unwavering you profess to love your spouse, that love cannot stand on the shady foundation of lies. Always say things the way they are. If anyone detests you for the truth, another will love you for it.
Have you betrayed the love and trust of your spouse by reason of your habitual lifestyle of lies, repent today and be sincere in telling the truth at all times despite all odds and I tell you, you will see better days ahead in your relationships.
Prayer Lines: Father, as the truth is in Jesus, birth your truth in me and let lies be far from my lips in Jesus name.
